Tack List — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 September 2026

This policy covers the iPhone and iPad app “Tack List”. It applies to the app only.

1. Summary

The app collects no personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no third-party SDKs, no advertising identifiers, no ads and no in-app purchases. The app makes no network requests of any kind and behaves identically in airplane mode.

2. What the app stores on your device

Your tasks, lists, tags, due dates, notes and completion history, plus your onboarding flag and preferences. All of it lives in a private container shared between the app and its Home Screen widgets on that device, and nowhere else. It is not synced to iCloud and it is deleted entirely when you uninstall the app.

3. Obsidian folder access

If you turn on Obsidian sync, iOS asks you to pick a vault folder. The app writes one markdown file per task into a tack/ folder inside the folder you picked, and reads the files back. Access is granted by you through the system file picker; iOS stores the permission as a security-scoped bookmark in your device keychain so it survives a relaunch. The app can only reach the folder you chose, the files never leave your device, and we never see them. You can revoke access at any time from the app's Settings.

4. Who else the app talks to

Nobody. There are no servers behind this app, no telemetry endpoint and no crash reporter. iCloud sync is listed in Settings as a v1.1 feature and is switched off and inert in this version.

5. System permissions

The app requests no access to location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, health or notifications, and does not use Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA). There is no tracking across apps or websites.

6. Data from Apple

Apple may give us aggregate, anonymous download and crash statistics through App Store Connect. They cannot identify any individual and we do not combine them with any other data.

7. Children

The app is rated 4+ and suitable for all ages. It collects no data from anyone, children included.

8. Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app were to collect any data, we would update this page and the App Store privacy details before releasing it.
